People all over the world are trying to lose weight. They want to learn how to lose weight. They’ve tried everything to lose weight, and nothing works. There are hundreds and thousands of “miracle” solutions out there, from diets to pills to exercise equipment. Every product makes outrageous claims, but most of them fall short. This leaves the consumer with the same question she started with: how to lose weight.
There are many reasons for wanting to slim down. One of the most obvious is how we are all bombarded with images of half-starving individuals and told they are “beautiful”. Unfortunately for most of us, this look is simply unachievable, and it is a terrible motivator. Fortunately, there are a plethora of good reasons to lose weight. Overweight people are more prone to diseases such as heart disease, stroke and diabetes. Overweight people on average have a shorter life expectancy. Being overweight is also very tiring. Imagine carrying a 50 pound backpack with you everywhere you go. It’s hard work!
It can be very frustrating trying to lose weight. With so many different solutions out there, some of which are very pricey, it’s hard to know what to do. Many people are caught in a cycle of “yo-yo dieting”, losing large amounts of weight only to gain it all back again as soon as they go back to their normal routine. This is very hard on your body and in itself can lead to problems down the road. In addition, different things work for different people, and it is not uncommon to see two people that are using the same program or technique end up with very different results.
To top it all off, many of the programs/diets/exercise routines contradict each other. Some restrict carb intake, others increase carb intake. Some have you sweating it out in the gym for hours a week, others don’t make any mention of physical activity at all. Some say to take this pill, some say to take that pill.
All of these programs do succeed in one area: they leave the consumer confused and wondering which program out of all of them will actually help them to lose weight. And once they’ve lost the weight, will they be able to keep it off again?
One thing does seem certain: in order to lose weight, you need to take action. Which program will you choose?
